Photography

Photography has been an interest of mine since I was a kid. I remember going to the book store and ending up at the photography section. I loved seeing what was captured. At that time, I honestly don’t think I understood why it was all so interesting to me. As I’ve gotten older, I’m not sure that I can fully convey my thoughts on the matter but I am certainly able to explain better than I could have back in school.

My appreciation for photography can be summed up into two reasons:

1. Photography is a technical and creative medium.

From what I can understand from tests in college and from books that I have read, I am a middle-brained person. Do a Google search for tests to determine what side of the brain you think on. It is very interesting. Everyone has the ability to think on both sides of the brain but most people tend to favor one side over the other. Of course, there are varying degrees of how much each person favors their side too. Then there are middle-brained people – people who don’t favor one over the other very much and can switch from one side to the other very easily (sometimes at will). This can be a good thing and a bad thing. Why? I’ll go into that another time. The reason I bring this up is because, as a middle-brained person, photography is easy to love due to the fact that I can deal with the technical/logical side of my brain and the creative side of my brain all with the same hobby. I love it!

2. Photography allows you the ability to capture a moment.

The “magic” of photography is the ability to capture a moment and share it with people. I have more to say about this but I will add it another time.

Please remember that I am still very new to this photography stuff. I am still learning. Please feel free to comment on anything you see here. I am always open to positive criticism. I can only get better if I know that I need to.

Thanks for visiting!
